Meet The Team
Emily Athey
, Interior Designer
With her Associate of Applied Science in Interior Design and CAD for Interiors certification from Pikes Peak Community College (PPCC), Emily offers a fresh perspective on the details and spaces in a project and is eager to exercise her creativity and problem-solving skills. She has been redefining expectations of people with disabilities, as she is legally blind and in a “sighted” person’s role. Her different abilities give her a unique perspective regarding accessibility in interior design and architecture. She particularly enjoys finish selection, space planning, and drafting. She is a Colorado Springs native and a graduate of District 38’s Lewis Palmer High School and the Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind’s Bridges to Life program.
Emily was a custom cake decorator while a student at PPCC. What began as a whim, quickly became one of her favorite hobbies.
