RTA Principal Stuart Coppedge Leading AIA K-12 Initiative

As a new school year begins, The American Institute of Architects (AIA) continues its board-level commitment to engage the K-12 community like never before. The AIA K-12 Initiative - led by RTA Principal and Chair of the K-12 Working Group Stuart Coppedge, AIA, LEED AP - is working to bring architecture to students of all demographics and income groups.

Congratulations to Eric Ward and Welcome to Ann Marie Jackson

We're pleased to announce that Eric Ward, AIA, recently passed all seven divisions of the Architect Registration Examination (ARE) and has earned the title of Architect. Eric joined RTA after receiving his Master of Architecture degree from Kansas State University. Eric is a key part of RTA’s healthcare team, and his leadership abilities, technical knowledge, problem-solving, and production abilities make him an integral part of every project he works on.

We’re also thrilled to welcome Interior Designer Ann Marie Jackson. Ann Marie graduated with her Bachelor of Arts for Interior Design from Bowling Green State University where she quickly found her passion in school design. Her 25 years of design experience also spans medical office buildings, universities, public libraries, multi-family housing, and churches.

Joel Cox Winner of 2017 Bud Roberts Scholarship

Joel Cox, AIA has been named the winner of the 2017 Bud Roberts Scholarship. Bud Roberts, one of the founders of RTA, was a lifelong learner and always interested in the growth of his employees. To honor his memory, a $2,000 scholarship was established by RTA to be given to an employee to pursue a creative learning opportunity. Joel will use his scholarship to travel to New York City to tour some of the local schools to learn more about the challenges of urban education facility design and will also attend the 2018 AIA Conference on Architecture.

Vista PEAK Preparatory Additions Underway

Take a look at the exciting changes at Vista Peak Preparatory! This addition will add classrooms, a cafeteria commons expansion, and a new wrestling and weight room. Work is slated to be complete summer 2018 and will increase the capacity from 1,350 to 2,250 students.

Multi-Party Integrated Project Delivery Offering Real Benefits to the St. Francis Medical Center Expansion

Penrose-St. Francis Health Systems recently broke ground on one of the few true IPD projects in Colorado using a multi-party agreement. RTA Principal John Hoelscher, AIA discusses how the team is delivering benefits beyond the norm to the project owner because of the demanding structure of a true IPD agreement in this week's ENR Mountain States and April's Daily Journal.

School in the Woods Eco-Charrette

Thank you to everyone who participated in our eco-charrette for Academy District 20's School in the Woods! Teachers, students, parents, alumni, and community members came together with the design team and GE Johnson to brainstorm sustainability and environmental goals for the new school design. We received a lot of valuable input and we can't wait to incorporate the feedback into the final design!
