John Hoelscher Appointed to the Board of Directors for Rocky Mountain Health Care Services

RTA President, John Hoelscher, was recently appointed to the Board of Directors for Rocky Mountain Health Care Services. Improving lives through access to healthcare has been a passion of John’s for the past 30 years. At RTA, he has focused on provided planning and architectural services for healthcare clients and their projects, and he looks forward to contributing to Rocky Mountain Health Care Services as a Board Member. Jones and Palmer Halls Receive Historic Preservation Alliance Award of Excellence

We are happy to announce that the Jones Hall and Palmer Hall projects have received an Award of Excellence for the Civic Restoration of a Historic Building from the Historic Preservation Alliance of Colorado Springs! Located on the Colorado Springs School for the Deaf and Blind campus, both buildings had deteriorated from their initial construction in the early 1900s. The recent renovations brought new life to the historic buildings while maintaining their historic character. Congrats to the hardworking teams!

The RTA-designed Academy for Literacy, Learning & Innovation Excellence, or ALLIES, in District 49 is Colorado’s only public school for students with dyslexia. Read how this unique program helps over 100 second- through fifth-graders each year through intensive specialized reading instruction.

The New Pikes Peak Summit Complex Gets CDPHE Approval for Localized Reclaimed Water Treatment System

Yet another important milestone at the Pikes Peak Summit Complex has been reached! The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment approved the localized reclaimed water treatment system for the Visitor’s Center.This is a key step in being able to use reclaimed water to flush toilets in the building, an important aspect of the sustainable design that has been the primary focus of the project that will save over 350,000 gallons of water per year over the former system. The only other entity to achieve this approval is Denver Water. Congrats to the hardworking design team!

RTA and GE Johnson Celebrate Topping Out of Cañon City Middle School

RTA, GE Johnson, staff, students, and community members gathered to watch as the last structural beam of the first phase of the Canon City Middle School project was put in place. The four phase project, which includes renovation of the 1924 portion of the building, is expected to be completed the summer of 2021. This LEED gold BEST project will blend new construction with the historic high school on Main Street in Cañon City. The building will feature 21st Century Learning environments, energy efficient systems, and a dynamic outdoor learning courtyard.

RTA Welcomes 8 New Team Members

We have welcomed eight new staff members to our Architectural, Interior Design, and Administrative teams over the last few months! Our new Architectural team members are Architects Bill Hrinko, Jr. and Wilson Day and Emerging Professionals Austin Beninga, Landon Cook, and Dikshit Mahaveer Chand. Our Interior Design team welcomed Interior Designers Susan Brock and Taylor Barker, and newest Administrative team member is Administrative Assistant Amanda “Mandi” Hillenbrand. RTA at the 22nd Annual Downtown Partnership Breakfast

RTA was honored to host several government leaders at our table at the 22nd Annual Downtown Partnership Breakfast last week. Stuart Coppedge, RTA Principal and Downtown Partnership Board Chair, shared his thoughts with the 750+ attendees, and members of the RTA team that attended the breakfast to support Colorado Springs’ thriving downtown. The Partnership works with property owners, nonprofits, and business and civic leaders to ensure that Downtown Colorado Springs expands its role as a primary economic engine and cultural driver for the Pikes Peak Region.

RTA Serves Dinner for Ronald McDonald House Families

One of the important services provided for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House are the daily evening meals, called Meals that Mend, that are entirely funded and provided by volunteers.
