    RTA's Stuart Coppedge recently served on The Women's Foundation of Colorado's panel as part of a community discussion on how to increase the STEM opportunities for women in El Paso County. RTA is committed to providing equitable professional opportunities for women, and this panel participation aligns with Stuart's support of gender equity on the American Institute of Architects national board of directors and his attendance at the fall 2016 Equity by Design Symposium.     Penrose St. Francis Health Services celebrated the groundbreaking of the new 168,000 sf addition to the RTA-designed St. Francis Medical Center. This $102 million project - in conjunction with GE Johnson, Centura Health, and other project partners - will increase the number of beds in the Emergency Department and NICU as well as provide additional new operating rooms to meet the needs of our ever-growing community. The four-story addition and new garden level will feature covered parking, an emergency medicine lounge, a wellness garden, and shell space for future expansion.     scott-schuster-portrait-gridCongratulations to RTA’s Scott Schuster on earning his architecture license from the state of Colorado!

    Since joining RTA in 2008, Scott’s focus has been on educational projects. His project experience involves educational renovations, additions and new construction for school districts throughout Colorado, including the Holly PK-12 school and Ignacio Middle School, both recipients of 2013 CEFPI awards for new construction.

    Scott is a LEED accredited professional and Associate Member of the American Institute of Architects. He received his Bachelor of Architecture in 2003 from Kansas State University.
