Sierra High School Renovation
Following a successful bond measure, Harrison School District 2 began an initiative to modernize the existing building infrastructure. Continuing a long working relationship, RTA was again retained for this renovation.

Project Details
- Square footage: 215,380 SF
- Cost: $11.6M
Design Details
- Athletics concession/restroom building
- Learning Commons featuring collaboration spaces, break-out areas, and technology support spaces
- Expanded CTE program spaces
The primary goal of the renovations was to create spaces that encourage collaboration and exploration. The library conversion to a “Learning Commons” creates spaces and areas to support new programs. Improvements to the existing CTE spaces allow for additional programs. Renovations were also made to the administration area, kitchen, and tennis court.
The scope of work also included mechanical renovations, new LED lighting, room signage, and ADA upgrades to the locker rooms, restrooms, and auditorium. The stadium was revitalized with a new scoreboard, bleachers, press box, concessions, and a colorful logo on the field.
Harrison School District 2 elected not to use a Design Advisory Group to assist in the design process for Sierra High School. Instead, multiple meetings with RTA, Wember, District staff, and the Principal and Athletic Director of Sierra High School informed the direction and vision for the design.
