"RTA developed a visionary solution that connected and blended the two existing buildings and remodeled a number of learning spaces to fit the new concept. The construction was successfully completed in occupied space with an at-risk student population.”

Boulder Valley School District had an extensive educational program expansion that required an addition and renovation to their existing 800 student Aspen Creek K-8 School.
The project scope included 6,000 square feet of addition; however, the Design Advisory Group (DAG) identified additional issues with the educational program that required relocation. RTA Architects and the DAG were able to re-evaluate and relocate the educational program areas with little cost to the District, which further clarified and met their educational objectives.
RTA identified several site circulation issues with parent and bus drop-off loops. Several solutions to these issues were discussed, and the one that was chosen provided a separate Early Childhood Education playground, complete with an outdoor chalkboard for both student and staff use.
