Program efficiency and multi-use areas were implemented to allow the community to use the facility after-hours. A major focus of the project was to reduce operating costs and to make the facility sustainable. Therefore, daylighting devices were strategically used to light the building and to reduce energy costs. Durable materials were also meticulously selected to create a building that will not only last, but also have a reduced impact on the environment.
Local participation was heavily utilized to bring a sense of community pride and to positively impact the local economy throughout the duration of the project. Enhanced safety and security and the ability of the community to use the facility after-hours were also primary desires of the Owner.
