- Collaborative design process
- Innovative 21st Century learning spaces with connections to the outdoors
- Interior design reflects the unique, multicultural student population
The school will feature flexible learning environments, breakout spaces, a centrally located Innovation Center, and direct access to the outdoors. The diverse student body includes individuals from over 27 countries. To honor this diversity, the interior design was inspired by the world’s geography and the variations found on each continent. With a theme of continents connected by oceans, each learning community features distinct shapes, signage, and imagery based on one of the continents. Just as oceans connect the continents, the hallways feature colors and patterns inspired by the ocean. Common spaces like the cafeteria bring all of the colors together, reflecting the shared nature of the space.
The design team worked in close collaboration with the District through a Design Advisory Group process and user group meetings to craft a design catered to the school’s unique and diverse student population.
