The principle focus of the building improvements included improvements to the pool area, the library, the mechanical systems, interior lighting, flooring, exterior windows, the creation of classroom pods and breakout spaces. Updates were also made to the gym, locker rooms, restrooms, the cafeteria and the kitchen. The renovations were constructed while the existing building is occupied, and a six-phase schedule was created to limit impact of construction on the school’s activities.
In a fully collaborative design effort, RTA led four meetings with the 12-member Harrison High School Design Advisory Group (DAG) consisting of administrative staff, faculty, parents, and community members. This team set project goals and visions while establishing priorities and voicing support for the needs of school within the context of the established bond approved scope of work.
