Project Architect

In your new position as part of the firm's architectural team, you will expand your craft and collaborate with architects who are profoundly impacting many of the area’s greatest projects such as the Pikes Peak Summit Complex, the Saint Francis Medical Center, and innovative educational facilities across the state. Your role will be fast-paced, multi-faceted and highly engaging. Depending upon the type of project, you may be assigned the responsibilities of Project Manager, Project Architect, or Architect.

Your primary duties are to plan, design, and assist in the creation of successful architectural and/or planning projects. You must have a thorough understanding of the practice of architecture and ability to develop a high quality projects. You will also be capable of leading and participating in client and team meetings and will be relied upon for your attention to detail, a proactive positive attitude, and superior communications skills.

Qualified applicants must have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree of Architecture

  • State of Colorado Architectural License or near completion of ARE

  • Minimum twelve (12) years architectural experience

  • A high level of architectural knowledge

  • Excellent communication skills to facilitate meetings with the client and project staff

  • Creative thinking ability and aesthetic sensitivity

  • Experience with governmental agencies along with knowledge of building codes and zoning ordinances

  • Thorough knowledge of local code requirements with the ability to implement

  • Strong skills regarding: job knowledge, communication, leadership, planning, teamwork, decision-making, judgment and problem solving associated with all phases of a project

  • The ability to utilize computer systems as a tool to effectively manage projects. Required computer skills: AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Office

  • Experience and leadership skills as required by Ownership

Recent College Graduate (Non-Licensed Architectural Staff)

Your role will be fast-paced, multi-faceted, and highly engaging. Your primary duties are: project work through SD and CD phases; reviewing architectural documents for potential conflict with all disciplines; implementing RFIs and change orders; and participating in client and team meetings. You will also be relied upon for your attention to detail, a proactive positive attitude, and superior communications skills.

Qualified applicants must have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a four (4) year degree in a related field

  • Zero to four (0-4) years of architecture experience

  • Ability to understand and interpret construction drawings

  • Basic knowledge of project design and construction documentation production

  • A collaborative and professional work ethic

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Proactive problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a deep motivation to learn
    Creative thinking ability and aesthetic sensitivity

  • Ability to perform work which requires the consistent exercise of discretion and judgment in its performance

  • Enrollment in Architecture Experience Program (AXP) and ability to actively work toward completion of requirements within five (5) years of graduation

  • The following computer skills: REVIT, Autocad, Bluebeam, MS Office, Adobe Creative Suites (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat)

Construction Administrator

In your new position as part of RTA’s Construction Administration team, you will collaborate with architects and Owners who are profoundly impacting many of the area’s greatest projects such as the Pikes Peak Summit Complex, the St. Francis Medical Center, and innovative educational facilities across the state. Your role will be fast-paced, multi-faceted, and highly engaging.

Your primary duties are to oversee documented projects during the construction phase and act as liaison among RTA, the client/Owner, and contractors. You will monitor projects using standard RTA Construction Administration process guidelines and be capable of participating in client and team meetings.You will be relied upon for your attention to detail, a proactive positive attitude, and superior problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualified applicants must have:

  • Minimum of BA/BS in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering field. A licensed Architect is preferred.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in the field or producing construction drawings including CA Phase.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction methods and materials, scheduling, code compliance, inspection/testing standards, etc.
  • Communication skills to facilitate meetings with the client, contractor and project staff.
  • Strong skills regarding: job knowledge, communication, leadership, planning, teamwork, decision-making, local building code, judgment and problem solving associated with the construction phase of an architectural project.
  • Thorough knowledge of Architect/Owner and Contractor/Owner AIA contracts and their requirements.
  • Ability to utilize computer systems as a tool to effectively manage projects. Required computer skills: MS Office and Bluebeam. Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit preferred.
  • Valid Class R Colorado Driver’s License and ability to travel to project sites (required).
  • Thorough knowledge of code requirements and the ability to implement them.

Construction Administration Assistant

In your new position as part of RTA’s Construction Administration team, you will collaborate with architects and Owners who are profoundly impacting many of the area’s greatest projects such as the Pikes Peak Summit Complex, the St. Francis Medical Center, and innovative educational facilities across the state. Your role will be fast-paced, multi-faceted, and highly engaging.

As the Construction Administration Assistant, you will work with all of the Construction Administrators as the point person who will coordinate project correspondence and communications. In this role you will manage the incoming and outgoing transmittal of all RFIs and submittals, keep the CA logbooks current, and support the CA team in other ways as directed, including transcribing punch lists, issuing ASIs, etc. You must be able to effectively communicate with clients, contractors, subcontractors and the RTA design team. 

Qualified applicants must have:

  • Associates Degree in Secretarial Science (preferred) or five (5) plus years related computer and secretarial/general office experience.
  • Understanding of the construction process. Familiarity with construction terms preferred.
  • A heart for service and a willingness to learn.
  • The ability to take direction and not be easily distracted.
  • Strong communication skills regarding general office practices and procedures and business English composition.
  • Detail oriented, well organized and have the ability to support several project teams at the same time.
  • The ability to type at the rate of eighty (80) words per minute.
  • The ability to transcribe dictation.
  • Required advanced computer skills: MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Bluebeam (note; can be trained on Bluebeam if necessary). Newforma experience is preferred but not required.
