John C. Hoelscher, Principal Emeritus
John has over 40 years of experience working on healthcare, governmental, and educational facility projects. He received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Nebraska in 1971, and he is one of the first Colorado architects to be board certified by the American College of Healthcare Architects. In the past 26 years, he has focused on providing planning and architectural services for healthcare projects. John excels in the early programming and planning phases of a project, and is particularly adept at leading teams and working with large groups and committees. He enjoys helping clients solve complex problems to develop finished projects that meet their objectives. He also encourages clients and RTA staff to go beyond what has been done before and to think bigger.
A project of close personal significance to John is the transitional housing program for the Woodland Park Community Church, a year-long program to self-sufficiency that provides a home and services to help people get back on their feet. John was closely involved in this project, and as a member of the Woodland Park community, he appreciates the significance of the program for those in need. Some of John’s most notable recent accomplishments at RTA include helping the younger staff to grow and excel, as well as successfully negotiating the transition of ownership at RTA to the next generation.
